A Little About MaggieRaye and Family
I’m a single home schooling mom and this is our 9th year. I have worked from home in the past, but currently we receive government assistance. This is why we’ve not asked for help from GTH on a regular basis. We are able to keep the bills paid, but there is nothing extra. Many folks have encouraged me to give up home schooling and put the kids into our local Christian school and go back to work, as they feel this would be more appropriate.
As I strive to remain at home and to train my children, we are grateful for the Lords amazing and abundant provision, when so many Christians are encouraging us to give up on the Lord’s calling for our family.
Note from the GTH Administration:
As MaggieRaye has explained, at this time, she is not seeking continual support from Gleaning the Harvest. She has been a constant cheerleader in the support of single parent families continuing home schooling for many years and is also a big supporter of Gleaning the Harvest. We have put up this page so that you can know MaggieRaye and her family a little better and as a specific need arises, you can help us in supporting her as she strives to continue to train and school her children in her home as she knows is best.
You can also learn more about MaggieRaye and her family at her personal blog, Patchwork Cottage. If you would like to support MaggieRaye’s business, please visit her shoppe: Patchwork Cottage Shoppe.

Barbara,
My heart goes out to you. I just shared with some single mom friends today, that I’m praying that the Lord would either bring a husband into my life or remove the desire I have to be married.
Your note reminds me that even being married isn’t always the answer.
Check out my blog and read back through it. There are many of us moms out there who are doing it alone. Each one has had to prayerfully find what works for them. http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/maggieraye
But first, maybe even more important, begin to pray that during the years time, the Lord will begin to stir your husbands heart toward his family and his children.
Our prayers will be that you don’t have to go through this — but if you do, know that you won’t be alone.
Seek counsel from your church family and rally their support behind you and your children as well.

Hey Lizzie,
I’m not sure why it says 0. I just emailed GTH/Jacque to find out what happened. We actually have received gifts totalling $172 thus far. It’s hard to be patient and wait on the Lord’s timing. There are many good lessons being learned through this process for both mother and daughter. I’m sure my son is learning some through observation, as well.
Blessings, MaggieRaye

Hey:) Why does this say zero? I came to check how much she had and it’s a 0;0!
I know she has some towards it:)

Help! my husband has informed me that he is giving me one year, and then he is gone. I home school my two children…a 15 and 13 year old. I know somehow that this is a real threat I just don’t know what to do about it. I have been a stay at home Mom, which is part of the problem he has with me. I have no college to speak of and have recently signed on for two classes…but I’m wondering if that is truly the way to go. I need advice. I think I need to work, but do not know how to figure this one out…The kids have activities Monday, Tuesday night, Wednesday church, and Friday Church. I waitressed but it took everything out of me…I do not know if i can do this again.
