We would like to introduce you to a friend of ours. Her name is MaggieRaye, and she is the founder of The Patchwork Cottage Shoppe. I have known Maggie as a home school mom for 3-4 years as a home schooling blogger mom. She is also the founder of Single Parent Homeschool and an advocate and encourager to single moms who wish to stay home and train up their children in the Lord while home schooling.

MaggieRaye herself is a single homeschooling mom from Maine looking for a way to preserve the art of patch-working, making do while making quilts. Patchwork Cottage Shoppe is her online shop, home of Imperfections- a line of quilts made from recycling used clothing and household linens. The quilts are handmade and individual in their styles.

Also carried at The Patchwork Cottage Shoppe are other hand crafted items, some made by recycling, others from new materials.

At this time, she has just had a request to consider making 8 large picnic quilts for a summer wedding. She is currently accepting donations of used clothing and household linens to complete this project. If you would like to donate fabrics, she’d love to recycle your cottons, especially summer-y or children’s prints for this project. Here is what she is looking for:

jeans,
cotton pants,
blouses,
flannel sheets,
regular sheets,
old blankets,
etc.

She does ask that you not send stretchy fabrics please. If it’s time to clean out your closets for the change of season, here is a great opportunity to recycle some of these items. If you are interested in giving, please leave a comment, and we will get MaggieRaye your email address.

Though MaggieRaye is not a monthly family we support at Gleaning the Harvest, she does have a special need for her daughter at this time. You will find the ChipIn for this in the sidebar.

Please be sure to visit The Patchwork Cottage Shoppe online at http://patchworkcottageshoppe.com

If you are on FaceBook, be sure to become a Fan of The Patchwork Cottage on FaceBook.
